VINCI Facilities, which is expanding in France’s western region, tested in Rennes a new B to B event focusing on innovation. BIM, Internet of Things… were among the subjects tackled during this Innovation lunch. Technical partners including start-ups and companies such as Dynamixz, Inovco, Opal, Weave.Air took part in this event.

3D digital models to manage buildings’ energy,  personalized reception for each visitor, presence sensors in meeting rooms to determine if cleaning is necessary or not, geolocation app in department stores… Those are a few examples of innovations now emerging in companies.

A growing business   

As a leader in those kind of services management, VINCI Facilities will definitely play an important role in this domain. It is a “growing business” according to Philippe Conus, the brand director. In Europe, There are around 8500 VINCI Facilities employees. The main goal of those innovations is to “anticipate the needs of occupants” whether they are from an office, a workshop, a shop, etc. “We want to arouse interest” declared Yannick Ménard, France’s western region director. In his region, there are 340 employees divided in six offices and also inside client sites in Bretagne, Pays-de-la-Loire and Basse-Normandie. VINCI Facilities manages sites for clients such as Thales, EDF, SNCF… “proximity is key”.

Facial recognition, BIM…

On 17 November, in Rennes’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, VINCI Facilities organized its first national innovation day. An event with solution demonstration workshops co-animated by its partners. Participants, clients and prospects, had the opportunity to discover facial recognition with the start-up Dynamixyz, personalized hotel approach applied in companies with Opal, or the 3D digital model to manage buildings on a technical level (BIM).
